Australian Wagyu

Purebred Australian Wagyu Bone-In Ribeye, BMS 7

This 16 oz bone-in ribeye is Purebred Australian Wagyu sourced from some of Australia's most respected farms, such as Stone Axe, Margaret River and Sir Harry, graded BMS 7. Purebred means at least 93.75% Wagyu genetics, reached by breeding up over four generations with Full Blood Wagyu sires. At BMS 7 the marbling is clear but lighter than at the top grades, so the steak keeps more classic beef flavor and you can eat it as a full-size steak.

Full Blood vs Purebred: this 16 oz Purebred bone-in ribeye has at least 93.75% Wagyu genetics and BMS 7. Our 18 oz Full Blood Australian Wagyu Bone-In Ribeye, BMS 9+ has 100% Japanese Wagyu genetics and BMS 9+.

Expect deeply marbled beef with a bolder, more robust flavor than Japanese A5. BMS 7 hits the sweet spot: visible, luscious marbling throughout the ribeye with classic beefy character that lets the cut speak for itself.

The bone-in ribeye is prized by serious beef lovers for good reason. The rib bone conducts heat during cooking, promoting even searing and locking in the natural juices that make this cut so rewarding. At 16oz, it's a commanding portion — built for the table, built to impress.

What does "Purebred Wagyu" mean?

Purebred Wagyu has at least 93.75% Wagyu genetics, reached by breeding up over four generations with Full Blood Wagyu sires. This bone-in ribeye is Purebred Australian Wagyu graded BMS 7. Genetics and marbling grade are separate: the grade measures the marbling in the cut itself.

What makes a bone-in ribeye steak different from a boneless ribeye?

The rib bone acts as a natural heat conductor during cooking, promoting more even cooking and helping retain the natural juices in the surrounding meat. Many chefs and steak enthusiasts prefer bone-in ribeye for its fuller flavor and dramatic presentation. The bone also adds weight to the cut, making a 16oz bone-in ribeye the perfect portion for a serious steak dinner.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is Your Wagyu Meat Delivered?

Your order ships frozen via FedEx 2nd Day Air or FedEx Overnight, Monday through Thursday, for weekday delivery. Orders placed by 8 AM PT ship the same day; Thursday shipments go overnight only. Orders of $250 or more ship free by FedEx 2nd Day Air.

Each shipment is packed in an insulated cooler with ice gel packs. The beef usually arrives frozen. Slight thawing in transit is normal, does not affect quality, and the beef can be safely refrozen, though each refreeze slightly reduces quality, so thaw only what you plan to cook.

Every cut is blast frozen and vacuum sealed before it ships. In Los Angeles, same-day delivery is available: text your concierge at (310) 683-7078.

Where Does Our Wagyu Meat Come From?

Every product page names the beef's origin. Our Japanese A5 Wagyu comes from named prefectures, including Miyazaki, Kagoshima and Hyogo (Kobe Wine). Our Australian Wagyu comes from some of Australia's most respected farms. Our American Wagyu is raised in the United States.

Every Japanese order ships with its certificate of authenticity. Questions about a specific cut? Text your concierge at (310) 683-7078.

Why Choose Destination Wagyu for Your Wagyu Meat?

  • Certificate with Japanese Wagyu: every Japanese order ships with its certificate of authenticity.
  • Concierge: text (310) 683-7078 for help choosing cuts, sizing a dinner or arranging same-day delivery in Los Angeles.

What Should I Do If There Is a Problem with My Order?

Every order arrives perfect, and if anything isn't right, we will always make it right. Email us at contact@destinationwagyu.com, call (310) 683-7076, or text your concierge at (310) 683-7078.

Is Your Wagyu Meat Grass-Fed?

Feeding depends on the beef's origin and farm. Wagyu is generally grain-finished over a long period, which is how its marbling develops, so we don't sell it as grass-fed beef. For details on a specific cut, text your concierge at (310) 683-7078.
